Furniture Friday #8 and Link Party

Thank you so much to all who participated in Furniture Friday last week.  In total we got 37 entries.  Tomorrow we will share the features from last weeks party.

I feel so bad I've got nothing new to post this week.  It's been so windy here this week so I haven't gotten anything done (at least not in the painting world).  Not to fret my dears, because I have a couple of projects to show you from my early blogging days, you know those days when nobody read my blog but me.

Recently I've decided to add some of my old projects to our Etsy Shop to show everyone what finishes we have available.  Well these two are pretty popular so thought I'd share them with you.

Here is a custom dresser I did for a little girl named Emma.

This dresser was one of my very first when we opened our shop.  and because of it I got a custom order on refinishing a dresser you have seen before.  I promise I will show you the finished product next week.

The Liebster Blog Award

Furniture Friday #7 and Link Party

Welcome to Furniture Friday dolls.  It's been an uneventful week as the weather has been California crazy. For you non Californians, crazy california weather includes rain, cloudiness, cool breeze, sun, then overcast, then rain, etc. etc.  I really shouldn't be complaining as I would've given my left arm for weather like this last year when I was living in Cincinnati, but it does put a damper on the projects.

Elaine and I were lucky to find enough sun to get two projects done.  First, Elaine painted this dresser with great lines.  Here is what it looked like before.


She used a red primer and a black paint and then distressed it to show through some of the red.  We call it the Black Pearl Dresser.


and remember that other metallic project I promised you?  Well here it is....
Unfortunately I did not snap a before picture, but it looked very similar to this dresser which I did another metallic finish on.


This time I used Rustoleum Navy Blue on it, but it looks more cobalt and added the metallic glaze in a straight motion.

Showoff Sunday's #4

I can't believe it's Sunday already.  I spent all day yesterday painting my sons room and my old studio to get it ready to sell.  All I can say is that Behr primer plus paint is amazing.   I was able to get dark gray painted to a light taupe in two coats and lime green painted to taupe in one.  I will share pics later this week.
