Reclaimed Wood Furniture

I am officially on the hunt for a desk/ dining table, because the desk I have now is not making the cut.  In a perfect world I could afford something custom, like out of reclaimed wood.  Better start saving my pennies because all though well worth it those babies are not cheap (ok they are not expensive, the problem is that I am so cheap).  I must say that they are beautiful.

In scouring the internet for an affordable Monica option, I stumbled across these gorgeous pieces from Arbor Exchange, right here in my own town.

Aren't they just beautiful?

These guys do everything with 100% reclaimed wood and hand built to perfection. So Arbor Exchange if you are out there, what is the discount for a local furniture fanatic like me?  Just saying.....

A Little Announcement

Oh boy, sorry it's been so long.  A couple of things have been going on.

1.) My rotator cuff has been acting up with a passion and things like moving a mouse can be pretty painful.  So I'm laying off the computer as much as I can.  I've got to retrain myself to use a mouse with my left hand (not easy).

2.) We have been so busy.  We got a space an a designer showcase antique warehouse called Antiques Off Fair Oaks.  So we are proud to show you our space.

Pasadena Wind Storm

I don't know how many of you know that we live in Pasadena, CA. Well, the other night we got hit with some crazy winds. Talk about insanity. Too see the video click here.

When the winds started we thought this was just another case of the Santa Ana winds, we get them every year, but nothing could've prepared us for what actually occurred.  By 10pm we new this was not an average wind storm, by 12am we were scared, by 2am we saying, are we in Kansas toto, and by 3am we were hoping this was not going to be a three little pigs situation, because we don't have brick houses and basements.  Needless to say, we got through it minus some power and cable outages, but in the morning when we went outside, we could'nt believe our eyes.

Here is some footage from our morning walk.

Power lines split
A tree blocking the street
Another tree (hundreds went down)
and the  infamous gas station, just a few blocks from our house.

Needless to say, things are looking better today (it's actually a gorgeous clear day), but still many don't have power and we are still driving through obstacle courses to get around the trees we lost : (
